Terms of Service

These terms apply when you create an account, submit a company brief, request a migration review, or accept paid work from BuiltShip. You must be at least 18 and authorized to act for any company or account you submit.

A written paid scope or Stripe checkout may add commercial terms for that work. If it conflicts with these terms, the written scope controls for that work. Mandatory rights under applicable law always control.

Founding access starts with a company brief. BuiltShip produces an inspectable plan with proposed stages, evidence, acceptance checks, ownership rules, and one next action. The plan is not a completed company.

The existing-company path starts with a manual migration review. The free review maps public and user-provided information. It does not log into, import, cancel, or alter your current company.

If you request a public website scan, BuiltShip fetches public HTML only. It does not use your credentials or private sessions. Raw HTML is processed for the scan and is not retained by BuiltShip. A derived summary may be retained with your brief.

A request for the next step goes to a human for review. It does not itself authorize payment, provider access, production changes, DNS changes, or a cutover.

Paid migration work requires a written scope that names the systems, deliverables, acceptance checklist, access level, costs, and handoff. No production access or cutover occurs without your explicit approval. You are responsible for maintaining current backups and access until the agreed handoff is accepted.

The company plan and founding migration map are free unless a page clearly says otherwise. Any paid build or migration is priced before work begins. Provider, domain, usage, and managed-hosting costs are shown separately when relevant.

BuiltShip takes 0% of your company revenue. A hosting or support fee is a service charge, not a claim on revenue, equity, payouts, or payment accounts.

If BuiltShip accepts a paid handoff and cannot deliver the agreed handoff against its written acceptance checklist, BuiltShip refunds the BuiltShip build fee for that handoff. This contractual promise does not automatically refund third-party costs, domains, usage, accepted work, or completed hosting periods. It does not limit cancellation, refund, or remedy rights that law does not allow these terms to waive.

You retain your rights in your company, domain, brand, payment account, submitted material, and business data. BuiltShip receives a limited license to use submitted material only to provide, secure, and support the requested service.

Generated source is included when the written scope says it is part of the handoff. BuiltShip retains its pre-existing platform, templates, methods, and general tools. Third-party and open-source components remain subject to their own licenses.

A paid scope must identify who owns each provider account and how source and data are exported. Resources created with BuiltShip provider credentials remain in those provider accounts until the agreed transfer or export occurs.

BuiltShip uses Neon and Vercel for the core service. Brevo may deliver service email, and PostHog may provide analytics when enabled. Stripe, GitHub, additional Neon databases, Vercel projects, and domain providers are used only when relevant to an accepted path or written scope.

Third-party services have their own terms, availability, limits, and fees. BuiltShip does not control them. We will not ask for production credentials during a free migration map.

Submit only information and URLs you are authorized to use. Do not submit passwords, payment-card data, health data, government identifiers, or other sensitive personal information in a brief or chat.

Do not use BuiltShip to violate law, intellectual-property rights, privacy, provider rules, or another person's systems. You are responsible for final business, product, tax, regulatory, marketing, and launch decisions.

Unless a written scope says otherwise, an automated output is a minimal launch foundation. It may include a landing page, private source repository, database connection, deployment, health route, and founding-list form. It does not include an ecommerce storefront, authentication, payments, analytics, domain purchase, or product-specific workflows.

Plans and generated output can be incomplete or wrong and require human review. BuiltShip does not promise market demand, revenue, profitability, legal compliance, intellectual-property clearance, uninterrupted operation, or a particular domain or provider outcome. BuiltShip does not provide legal, tax, accounting, investment, or regulated professional advice.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that applicable law does not allow either party to exclude. Subject to that rule, BuiltShip is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or opportunity caused by use of the service or a third-party provider.

Subject to non-waivable law, BuiltShip's total liability for a paid scope will not exceed the BuiltShip fees paid for the affected scope during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Free services are provided as available.

You may stop using BuiltShip and request account or brief deletion. BuiltShip may suspend access for security risk, abuse, unlawful use, or non-payment. Export any scoped source or data before an agreed provider resource is closed.

We may update these terms for new features, providers, or legal requirements. The effective date will change when we do. A signed scope is not changed retroactively unless both sides agree or law requires it.
